Dr. Richard Blumenfeld is the son of a dentist, Dr. Louis Blumenfeld. Richie always enjoyed it when his father would take him to the office and teach him how to work with the drills, and to pour plaster of paris models that would be used as study models of the patient's teeth. One special day after he helped his dad pour patient models, his father encouraged him to sink his whole hands into the cold wet plaster. Soon he had a model of his hands, that were bound to become the hands of a dentist. He still enjoys purchasing the finest drills and other high-tech equipment for his office.
Richard attended New York University and graduated from New York University School of Dentistry, receiving a D.D.S. degree. He then joined the Air Force as a dentist, and was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas. As a Captain in the Air Force his job was to keep the teeth of the pilots healthy, so they could fly their missions.
